Honest about timing

We tell you plainly how soon we can realistically get to you.

Family run

Ashley deals with the roofing work directly, backed by 85 years of combined family experience.

## What counts as a roofing emergency

A roofing emergency is anything where water or weather is getting into the house right now, or where part of the roof is unsafe. Typical examples are water dripping through a ceiling or light fitting, tiles or slates blown off in high wind leaving the felt or membrane exposed, ridge tiles that have come loose and could fall, flashing torn away from a chimney or wall, or a gutter that has come away and is hanging over a path.

Not every roof problem needs an emergency visit. A single slipped tile with no water getting in, or moss build-up, can wait for a normal appointment during office hours, Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm. If you are not sure, call us and describe what you can see. We will tell you honestly whether it needs urgent attention or can be booked in.

## Emergency roof repairs across Newport and Gwent

We are based on Caerleon Road in Newport, and we take emergency call-outs from homeowners and landlords across Newport and the surrounding areas we cover, including Cwmbran, Caerphilly, Risca, Chepstow, Caldicot and Magor. Storm weather coming in off the Severn Estuary is one of the most common causes of the calls we get, particularly on older terraced roofs where slates and ridge tiles have been fixed for decades.

How quickly we can get to you depends on where you are, the weather and how many calls are coming in at the time. We will not promise a time we cannot keep. When you call, we will tell you straight how soon we can realistically be with you.

## What it costs to leave it

Water that gets into a roof does not stay where it lands. It soaks into insulation, runs along timbers and can bring down ceiling plaster if left. A short-term fix to keep the weather out, followed by a proper repair, usually costs far less than dealing with the damage that builds up when an open roof is left over several days of rain.

### Mistakes we see most

- Climbing onto a wet or wind-damaged roof yourself to try a fix
- Leaving water coming through a ceiling near light fittings or electrics without turning off the power to that circuit
- Waiting to see if it happens again in the next storm
- Assuming the leak is directly above the stain inside

How the job runs

## Our five-step process

- 1
### Call 01633 759336
Tell us what is happening and where you are. We will tell you honestly how soon we can get to you and what you can safely do in the meantime.

- 2
### Make it safe
On site we deal with the immediate problem first: keeping the weather out and making loose tiles, ridge or gutters safe.

- 3
### Find the cause
Once the roof is safe, we trace where the water is actually getting in, rather than just covering the visible damage.

- 4
### Written quote for the full repair
If a permanent repair is needed, you get a free written quotation with no obligation before any further work goes ahead.

What you get

## The result you are paying for

### One call, any hour
Emergency roofing call-outs taken 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

### Straight answers
We tell you whether it really is urgent and how soon we can get there.

### Repaired properly
Emergency work is followed by a proper repair, quoted in writing first.

In detail

## Materials, methods and the variations that matter

### What you can safely do while you wait
Stay off the roof and out of the loft if the ceiling is sagging. Put a bucket under any drips and move furniture and valuables out of the way. If water is near light fittings or sockets, switch off that circuit at the fuse board. If you can safely take a photo of the outside of the roof from the ground, it can help us understand what we are dealing with when you call.

### Temporary fix versus permanent repair
In bad weather it is not always possible or safe to carry out a full repair straight away. The first job is to stop more water getting in. The permanent repair, such as replacing tiles or slates, re-fixing ridge, or renewing lead flashing, is then carried out when conditions allow. Any additional work and costs are explained and agreed with you before we go ahead.

### Landlords and letting agents
If a tenant reports a leak, we can take the call directly and attend. You will then get a clear written quotation for any permanent repair needed.

Questions we get asked

## 24/7 Emergency Roof Repairs: straight answers

### Do you really take emergency calls 24/7?
Yes. We take emergency roofing call-outs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 01633 759336. Our office hours for general enquiries and quotations are Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.

### How quickly can you get to me?
It depends on your location, the weather and demand at the time. We will tell you honestly when you call rather than promise a time we cannot keep.

### What counts as an emergency?
Water actively coming into the property, tiles, slates or ridge blown off or loose, flashing torn away, or anything on the roof that could fall. If you are unsure, call and describe it and we will advise.

### Will you give me a price before doing the full repair?
Yes. After making the roof safe, any permanent repair is quoted in writing, free and with no obligation, before further work goes ahead.
